Chocolate And Chilli Welsh Cakes

- 140 g softened butter
- 80 g caster sugar
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 270 g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp semi-skimmed milk
- Beat sugar with butter until soft and fluffy.
- Add the rest of dry ingredients, egg and milk and mix well. The mixture should be slightly sticky.
- Grease slightly a pan with butter.
- Using wet hands make balls (golf ball size) from the dough, press them so they are 1 cm in depth. Don't make them thick as they will not cook properly. Fry for 3-5 minutes from both sides until they are golden.
